IMPROVEMENT OF THE LONG SHOT 2
We have changed the fin layout and material.
The fin is now made of foam and double glass skin, with carbon and glass reinforcements in important regions.
The weight of the fin is, unlike of those made of balsa, very uniform and ca 6 grams only.
The fin airfoil is of the flat bottom type, max. thickness ca. 6mm.
The rudder and elevator are driven via mini pushrods, which are included. The inner wire is of 0,35 mm diameter and the weight of one pushrod is ca. 1 gram.
The wire runs in teflon tubing with matt surface, which allows to glue the tubes with CA.
The pushods drive the surfaces very preciously and allow to detach the stab very easily for the safe transport of the model.
The new jigs to cut the wing cutouts were CNC made for better accuracy.
