ECOTOP SCALE SERIES

The ECOTOP Dalotel DM-165 VIKING is the exact third scale replica of the unique prototype #01 of the French experimental plane built in 1965 by Michel Dalotel and which flew for the first time in 1969. Contemporary of the MUDRY CAP 10 and other ZLIN 226, it is an aerobatic tandem two-seater monoplane equipped with a retract gear.

Popularized in the eighties among the modellers by aerobatic champion Hanno PRETTNER. He flew it with great success at the famous Tournament Of Champions (TOC) in Las Vegas in 1978 (1st place prize US$15 000).

The DALOTEL is almost a legend, and this is why we decided to collaborate with François MARLIN who worked a lot on this model. She even enabled him to become French national champion 2010 (scale class)!

Our ARF ECOTOP SCALE SERIES reproduction  has all refinements of François' model but practically all was done for you at the factory! Thus, you can find yourselves at the controls of a true scalemodel after only few hours spent in your workshop. With a little more work, you push the details a little further and you can enter in scale contest…

If the competition is not your cup of tea, you'll really enjoyed her excellent qualities of flight, her soft aerobatic as one could do it in the seventies and her incomparable line, once gear retracted. Scale and good acrobat at the same time, it's really, believe us, an excellent choice!

The large wings allow to have a ridiculous wing loading facilitating landings. And moreover, the pneumatic retract gear with shock absorber is a must to soften the landings… even the worse!

This model is perfectly powered with a DLE-55 engine and thus, flies in a realistic way.
